What is a Credible Identifying Witness?

An Acknowledgment is a formal declaration before a notary that the instrument presented is free and voluntary act of the party executing it and the signatures on the documents are genuine. A jurat is a written statement of the notary that an Oath or Affirmation was taken before the Notary. Taking the Oath or Affirmation is an undisputable request regardless of what state you are commissioned in, taking the Oath is a promise that one is making a true and correct statement to the best of their knowledge so help you God. An affirmation is an oral or written declaration made by a person who has an objection to taking the Oath certifying under penalty of perjury the declarations are true.

What is a Credible Identifying Witness?

A Credible Identifying Witness is an individual who vouches for the indentity of the document signer. The witness must personally know the signer. The witness will be required to sign the journal and affidavit of Credible witness.
